CleverSets is the end-result of years spent trying to organize my stuff. I've always had way too many personal projects going, and in 2012 I decided to build a web application that I could use to keep track of all the notes, reference material, links and so on that I could never find when I needed them.
Eventually I decided I wanted to share some of my stuff with other people, and so I built sharing into the app. Then I decided to share CleverSets with the world, and here we are!
I also wanted to provide people with an alternative to the options offered by big tech companies, which are often "free" because the users aren't the customers, but the product. The real customers are the large advertisers who pay to get access to users' eyeballs (and often their data). The more time people spend on the applications, the more advertising revenue those companies make. And that drives everything they do, including the infamous "Algorithms".
Our objective is to not depend on advertisers, so there's no conflict of interest between them and our REAL customers — the users.

Send an Item to one person or a small group. Pull it back later. No public feed (unless you WANT it public), no algorithm, no audience you didn't pick.
You can choose to share some of your stuff with other people. Or not. It's up to you. If you want to be anti-social and shut out the world, that's fine. You be you.
Free and paid
CleverSets has a free tier and paid tiers. The free tier is meant to be genuinely useful on its own — not functionally inadequate, not a 7-day teaser; the free tier is free forever. Paid tiers fund the company and unlock more storage, finer-grained sharing controls, and additional features. Specific limits and prices are being finalized and will show here when they are.
